The southernmost estuary of the Rias Baixas and a highlight of the Costa da Morte. It forms a wide inlet that starts in Cape Fisterra and continues to Carnota, a municipality that together with Dumbría, Cee, Corcubión and Fisterra, make up its geographic footprint.

This shallow, steep estuary is dominated by the presence of Monte Pindo and a mountain ridge, resulting in a coastline made up of unspoilt, natural beaches, including the outstanding dune landscape of Carnota, stretching out over seven kilometres.

The southern part of this inlet is dotted with little fishing villages such as Carnota, O Ézaro or Caldebarcos. In contrast, the northernmost area is much more developed, with the towns of Fisterra, Corcubión and Cee – the most populated town and the county seat.
